At twelve noon, a man dressed in plaid shirt, white suit, and sneakers entered the Bubba Gump restaurant. Hey, it’s Forrest Gump! No, not Tom Hanks, silly. I said, it’s Forrest Gump!!!

Forrest Gump, portrayed by Steve Webber, arrived in Manila to help promote the exciting new dishes and to kick off the first year anniversary celebration of Bubba Gump Trinoma. A throng of bloggers were treated to a hearty lunch consisting of appetizers called “Dynamite Shrimp”, grilled shrimp salad with garlic-cilantro dressing, spicy jambalaya pasta, mashed potatoes, corn on cob, fried chicken, and a dessert called “That Chocolate Thing.”

Shrimps. Care for more shrimps? Ah yes, with those lovely gargantuan shrimps calling our names, we couldn’t help but line up for seconds. Just imagine how i managed to sneak a couple more of those babies on my plate. Ok, ok. I have anti-histamine on hand, just in case. This girl is armed and ready!
Forty five minutes, and several plates later. Fellow bloggers, namely, Shari, Janine, Junel, and Robby shared a serving of “That Chocolate Thing” with me. What’s that chocolate thing, you ask? Well, it’s flourless chocolate cake, topped with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and drizzled with raspberry sauce. Pure yumminess! Once you taste it you’ll forget its name, heck, you’ll even forget yours!

that chocolate thing
Perhaps Shari had too much of that pure yummy goodness that she temporarily lost it and forgot that the suitcase she was carrying was actually not hers. Good thing Forrest Gump aka Steve Webber noticed her, before she could dash out the door with his suitcase. Haha. We all had a good laugh at that.

To show that Forrest was a good sport, he gave the bloggers time for some photo op with his suitcase. Yes, he’s definitely kind just like in the movie. As for his suitcase, well it became an instant hit with the bloggers. And that’s all i have to say about that!
