Lulu Castagnette Watches

My favorite brand, Lulu Castagnette, recently launched its fashionable watches in the Philippines.

Paschal Fanton, managing director of Lulu Castagnette unveiled the watches with the emblematic teddy bear logo that Lulu Castagnette has been known for across the world. The brand has a simple and clear message: “Lulu Forever” which means ‘Lulu Castagnette accompanies me everyday, i can’t do without it.’

Lulu Castagnette Watches targets both young and fashionable female clientele by offering two ranges: Lulu Women, stylish and active; and, Lulu Girls, fresh sweetness and playful innocence.

Lulu Women and Lulu Girls watches are available in Urban Time located at all SM Department Stores. Visit the flagship store of Urban Time at the 3/F The Annex of SM North EDSA.

Ipanema Walk the Green Mile

To show my support and to help build awareness for the plight of the Philippine rainforests, i joined a ‘walkathon’ organized by my favorite Brazilian flip flop brand, Ipanema.

The one-mile walk took place last March 21, starting at the parking lot of Le Souffle, The Fort and all the way around Bonifacio Highstreet in Taguig City. Patxi Elizalde of ELRO Commercial and Industrial Corporation, along with his family and some local celebrities graced the event. (ELRO is the exclusive local distributor of the Ipanema brand.)

Patxi Elizalde of ELRO decided to donate a portion of purchases of Ipanema’s Gisele Bundchen Seeds collection to Haribon Foundation’s reforestation project. ROAD which is short for Haribon’s Rainforestation Organizations and Advocates, hopes to plant 1 million hectares of rainforests for the next 11 years.

I hope more companies would follow ELRO’s lead and help with the reforestation project, so that we, and the future generation can still enjoy the beauty of the Philippine rainforests.

MV Doulos Returns to Manila

The MV Doulos, also known as the Largest Floating Bookshop, is currently docked at the Manila South Harbour, Pier 13.  The world’s oldest active passenger ship arrived in Manila last Thursday, March 5, 2009.  The bookshop officially opened its doors to the public on Friday, March 6 and will close on March 30. Admission tickets cost 10 pesos per adult and children under 16 years old are admitted free.

MV Doulos carries thousands of books on board covering a diverse range of topics. You can get a book for as low as 50 units. The bookshop has a pricing system called “unit” which is equivalent to a peso (ie. 300 units = 300 pesos).  They offer a wide selection of books for children, so bring your kids along.

MV Doulos bookshop also carries a range of Muisc/CDs for 300 to 500+ units each. Most of the albums available are gospel/christian but there are also a couple of contemporary music, too.

Volunteers of the MV Doulos are looking forward to welcoming you onboard, so bring your family and friends and pay them a visit this March!
