Matt Mullenweg was not horsing around when he talked about the current state of WordPress. According to Matt, there are 7.6 million WordPress .com and .org blogs in the world and this number continues to grow by the minute. WordPress is considered as the most popular blogging platform and obviously filipinos have learned to embrace it.

During the Wordcamp event held at the College of Saint Benilde, bloggers, developers, and WordPress enthusiasts were given a peek at WordPress 2.7, also known as Crazyhorse. This version of WordPress will be released this coming November. Here are several revisions and changes made with version 2.7:
1. The dashboard is no longer there
2. Left navigation has become dynamic
3. The drag and drop feature is now applicable to both sides
4. Comments can now be rearranged
5. Passwords are encrypted
Now i’m sure you’ll find these changes exciting! Just like some of the bloggers who attended the event. They were so happy about the latest developments that they couldn’t help but spread the word via plurk.
Look who’s Plurkin!
