Make Your Own Pizza Adventure
Before starting the pizza-making session, guests first chose a pizza flavor they’ve yet to taste from among the more than 30 pizza offerings of California Pizza Kitchen. They then received baking tools and premium ingredients, which are essential for creating authentic California-style pizzas according to Archie Rodriguez, President of Global Restaurant Concepts, Inc., the Philippine franchise owner of California Pizza Kitchen.
“Our California-style pizzas are famous for their use of fresh ingredients sourced locally and around the world,” said Rodriguez. “Premium goods such as imported Italian sausage and handpicked Roma tomatoes ensure the flavorful taste that California-style pizzas are famous for.”
Make Your Own Pizza participants then arranged these high-quality ingredients on top of special dough before baking them in a hearth oven. “Our hearth oven baking process creates a pizza crust characteristic of fine bread. It also retains the color, texture and taste of our toppings, lending our pizzas a distinct and complex flavor,” explained Rodriguez.
International Offerings, Classic Bestsellers
Guests were given the chance to savor their creations, which were served fresh from the oven. From the spicy Thai Chicken to the smoky sweet Jamaican Jerk Chicken, the international pizzas of California Pizza Kitchen offer a taste of the world.
“Our pizzas draw inspiration from the diverse culinary heritage of the Golden State, which is called home by many migrant cultures,” said Rodriguez. “This is why California is also a melting pot of flavorful cuisines—a culinary heritage mirrored in the pizzas of California Pizza Kitchen.”
The global pizza chain also carries classic bestsellers. Its most popular pizza, the Original BBQ Chicken, is one of the original recipes used by Rick Rosenfield and Larry Flax, the founders of California Pizza Kitchen. And while Hawaiian and Pepperoni may seem plain compared to their counterparts, the use of high-quality ingredients gives these traditional flavors a premium twist.
“Our range of pizzas encourage Filipinos to be adventurous so that they enter California Pizza Kitchen, thinking: ‘Maybe I’ll try a new pizza today’. Because whether it’s Goat Cheese with Roasted Peppers or Tuna Melt, we want our pizzas to be as exciting as they are satisfying to the palate,” said Rodriguez.

During the Wordcamp event held at the College of Saint Benilde, bloggers, developers, and WordPress enthusiasts were given a peek at WordPress 2.7, also known as Crazyhorse. This version of WordPress will be released this coming November. Here are several revisions and changes made with version 2.7:
1. The dashboard is no longer there
2. Left navigation has become dynamic
3. The drag and drop feature is now applicable to both sides
4. Comments can now be rearranged
5. Passwords are encrypted
Now i’m sure you’ll find these changes exciting! Just like some of the bloggers who attended the event. They were so happy about the latest developments that they couldn’t help but spread the word via plurk.
Look who’s Plurkin!
