Teen Trouble

Miss South Carolina, Lauren Caitlin Upton, a contestant at the Miss Teen USA pageant was asked to comment on this:  “Recent polls have shown a fifth of Americans can’t locate the U.S. on a world map, why do you think this is?

Now here is Miss South Carolina’s nonsensical answer:

“I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, uhmmm, some people out there in our nation don’t have maps and uh, I believe that our, I, education like such as uh, South Africa, and uh, the Iraq, everywhere like such as, and I believe that they should, uhhh, our education over here in the US should help the US, uh, or should help South Africa, it should help the Iraq and the Asian countries so we will be able to build up our future, for us.”

Warning: Girls, this is what happens when you over-dye your hair!

Markets are conversations.

Markets consist of human beings,
not demographic sectors.

Conversations among human beings
sound human. They are conducted in
a human voice.

The internet is enabling
conversations among human beings
that were simply not possible in
the era of mass media.

 “Horizontal knowledge is
communication among individuals,
who may or may not know each other,
but who are loosely coordinated by
their involvement with something,
or someone, of mutual interest.  And
it’s extremely powerful, because it
makes people much smarter.”

Shadowfeet

Walking, stumbling
On these shadow feet
Toward home, a land that I’ve never seen
I am changing
Less and less asleep
Made of different stuff than when I began
I have sensed it all along
Now fast approaching is the day

Chorus:
When the world has fallen out from under me
I’ll be found in you, still standing
When the sky rolls up and mountains fall on their knees
When time and space are through
I’ll be found in you

There’s distraction
Buzzing in my head
Saying in the shadows it’s easier to stay
But I’ve heard rumours of true reality
Whispers of a well-lit way

Bridge:
You make all things new

Chorus2:
When the world has fallen out from under me
I’ll be found in you, still standing
Every fear and accusation under my feet
When time and space are through
I’ll be found in you
When time and space are through
I’ll be found in you
When time and space are through
I’ll be found in you

I really love the witty video illustration parody of the popular Mac vs. PC ads, but this time Christian and Christ-Follower go head to head trying to convince the other one that their view on things makes more sense.

Here’s the series of Christian/Christ-Follower Parody. Enjoy!

I don’t speak Christianese
